The cover of Prog 855 tells you everything you need to know: Judge Dredd, lawgiver raised and firing, squares off against a full-sized Tyrannosaur sporting a Judge's badge and gold chain in the middle of a Mega-City One street — and the tagline "Dredd Hunts Dino!" leaves no room for ambiguity about the kind of mayhem waiting inside. Ron Smith's linework sells the sheer scale of the confrontation beautifully, with the snarling dinosaur looming over a Dredd who refuses to back down an inch. Add the return of bounty hunters Feral and the Gronk in Strontium Dogs, and this October 1993 prog is packed with exactly the sort of gloriously strange storytelling that made 2000 AD essential weekly reading.
