2000 AD #827

Prog 827 of 2000 AD hits the shelves in 1993 with a cover by Anthony Williams that's hard to ignore — a grim, square-jawed gunman clutches his weapon tightly while an enormous, grotesque hulk of a creature looms over him from behind, hat and all. The cover copy promises Sam Slade caught "in the clutches of Keith," alongside the featured strip Heavy Metal Kid, and teases a packed prog of fangs, future shocks, and fairytales. With interior work from Garth Ennis and Jon Haward on "Barfur," this is a solid slice of what made early-nineties British comics so distinctively entertaining.
