Prog 743 of 2000 AD announces itself with a snarl — a ferocious, blue-faced beast with massive curling horns bursting clean through the cover itself, yellow eyes blazing and fangs bared as it declares, "Welcome to the Animal Kingdom!" The issue features Inspector Raam and teases the launch of new thrill Dead Meat, making this August 1991 edition a particularly lively addition to the weekly lineup. Simon Jacob's cover art — both pencils and inks — gives the creature a visceral, wall-breaking energy that's hard to look away from.
