“Song of the Surfer, Part 10”

Prog 663 of Britain's beloved weekly anthology hits newsstands in January 1990 with a striking cover by Jim McCarthy — a shadowed, sharp-featured figure dominates the right side while a cluster of disembodied, watchful eyes swirl ominously to the left, all rendered in a moody palette of yellow, green, and deep blue. The bold cover line "Bix Licks Stick's Tricks!" promises some sharp confrontation within, and the "Master of the Bix" banner adds an air of cool, jazzy intrigue to the whole composition. Inside, Ian Rimmer and Art Wetherell continue their "Song of the Surfer" with Part 10, so readers already hooked on that serial have every reason to grab this one off the shelf.
