Prog 524 of 2000 AD (30 May 1987) arrives with a cover by Brendan McCarthy that perfectly captures Mega-City chaos — Judge Dredd is engulfed in a surging wave of rats, barely keeping his footing while crying out "Control — get me the Pest Squad!" against a moody purple cityscape backdrop. The tagline "Like a Rat Out of Hell" sets the tone for what looks like an absolutely grim situation for the Law. Inside, T. B. Grover and B.
