Prog 264 of 2000 AD hits shelves in May 1982 with a cover by Ian Gibson that pits a muscular, red-trousered Robo-Hunter against a towering mechanical knight mounted on an equally mechanical horse — the armored assailant brandishing a mace and bellowing "Die, knave!" while his quarry scrambles to defend himself below. The clash of futuristic robotics and medieval pageantry makes for a wonderfully absurd visual, perfectly in keeping with the anarchic energy this weekly anthology thrived on.
