Tom y Helen son atacados por un monstruo que surge del mar, pero Tom lo mata de un disparo. Intrigado por el incidente, Tom parte en busca de una explicación, terminando encerrado en una nave espacial. Ahí Tom es transformado en el mismo monstruo que les atacó a él y a Helen y es devuelto al mismo tiempo y el mismo lugar donde daba comienzo el relato. Tom, desempeñando el papel del mostruo, revive todo lo sucedido.
