A striking opening volume from the creative team of Yuki Amemiya and Yukino Ichihara, whose cover art immediately establishes the series' dramatic tension. Two figures dominate the composition — a tall, sharp-featured young man in a dark coat adorned with chains looms protectively (or perhaps menacingly) behind a younger brown-haired boy in white-and-gold armor, both surrounded by swirling dark machinery and blade-like tendrils that give the whole image a sense of ominous, coiling threat. If this first installment of *07-Ghost* is any indication, fans of richly designed fantasy manga with a gothic edge are in for something genuinely compelling.
