About this issue

This Famous Western issue contains ten stories spanning Western and crime fiction. The two feature novels are "Blind Man's Bluff" by Eli Colter, a vengeance narrative in which protagonist George Slade returns home to confront Dave Holly—suspected of framing his father and murdering his brother—only to discover through Holly's face that the real culprit remains unknown; and "Hangmen of Holy Hollow" by George Kilrain, apparently concerning vigilante executions. Short story contributors include A. A. Baker ("Digger John's Big Blow"), Lee Floren ("Range of Forgotten Law"), William Stephen Gamble ("The Cheater"), H. A. De Rosso ("He Only Knew the Desert"), and Rex Whitechurch ("The Devil Rides the Downgrade"). The issue also includes two factual pieces on Western history: "Virginia City—The Roaring Camp" and "Handcart Pioneers." Additional stories by Archie Joscelyn and others round out the collection of Western and frontier crime fiction.
