This pulp magazine issue from August 1950 contains a feature novel and six shorter stories spanning Western action themes. Lee Floren's "Bought by Bullets" (novel) concerns Bill Dupree, unable to handle beaver poachers alone while doubting whom to trust. Allan K. Echols contributes "Gun-Ghost Rider," featuring a destructive figure named Bryce. C. H. Cogswell's "Three-Way Chance" follows Loco Jack Calamity, burdened by bad luck. Chuck Martin's "Pistol Manners" depicts Colonel Calhoun and Major Cordwaite. "Kansas Tornado" by John Lackland features a mysterious gunslinger. The collection also includes "The Staff of Life" by Charles Ackeley about friendship lessons, and "Digger John's Flume" by A. A. Baker, in which Digger John's entanglement draws all of Gold Run into complications. A true-fact feature on a cowboy swindler from Abilene is attributed to Harold Gluck.
