About this issue

This Spanish-language spy thriller by Lou Carrigan follows British Secret Service agents Reginald Marks and Eva Lamarr, lovers on a four-day holiday. While they sleep, a mysterious figure introduces a paralyzing gas and injects Eva with a transformative substance that grotesquely deforms her body and face. The perpetrator, calling himself Doctor Klom, reveals himself upon Marks's awakening. Klom blackmails Marks with the promise of an antidote—obtainable only through Klom's knowledge—in exchange for unspecified services. Marks reluctantly agrees. Klom reveals the mission requires both agents to travel to Singapore by private aircraft the following evening, with Eva held separately. The narrative emphasizes Marks's shock and horror at Eva's transformation while establishing the coercive premise driving the plot forward.
