That night, an unexpected letter arrives—a friend repays a four-year-old debt of one thousand dollars and offers employment. Taylor's circumstances dramatically improve. The disc appears to possess genuine magical properties, though the television subsequently malfunctions. The narrative suggests supernatural intervention connecting both storylines.
