About this issue

"Lynx Against Rox: The Key to the Kingdom Sensation" by T.C. Harbaugh follows schemer Wat Waffles, who plots to impersonate a missing heir to wealthy broker Carlos Kingdon's fortune. Waffles recruits a seventeen-year-old boy named Tony, sending him to deliver letters establishing contact with Kingdon under the alias "Business." The story intersects with Dick Doan, known as "Dick o' the Docks," a shrewd river scavenger who has observed Waffles's suspicious movements between New York and Jersey City over two months. Dick follows Waffles to Mother Scammon's house, where he watches through a hidden opening with help from a girl named Mollie, attempting to uncover the nature of Waffles's scheme involving the boy and the wealthy businessman.
