By Captain "Bruin" Adams, presented as a romance by Grizzly Adams's nephew. Old Grizzly, the famous bear-tamer, and his young companion Alfred Badger witness a Blackfeet village preparing to execute a white prisoner by fire. As Grizzly prepares to mercifully shoot the captive from hiding, a spectacular rescue unfolds: a woman dressed in gaudy frontier garb rides a white horse directly into the Indian camp, accompanied by a large brown bear. She cuts the prisoner's bonds and escorts him away. Grizzly and Alfred pursue but are themselves discovered and chased by warriors. After a running battle in which Grizzly kills one brave in hand-to-hand combat and both men defend themselves with rifles and revolvers, they find themselves surrounded, preparing for a final stand against overwhelming numbers.
