About this issue

Captain Bullet, the Raider King; or, Little Topknot's Crusade by T. C. Harbaugh is a Western adventure serial set in Silver Valley, south of Arkansas. Two hardened raiders, Captain Bullet and his partner Texas, plot to steal a prized white stallion named White Lightning from rancher Bodine. When they seize the horse, Bodine's daughter Bessie pursues them on horseback. She shoots Texas from his saddle but loses ground when a massive buffalo herd, pursued by Comanche hunters, stampedes across the valley. Captain Bullet escapes toward the hills while Bessie must flee for her life as the thundering herd bears down on her. The serial combines horse-theft intrigue with frontier action and peril.
