Isabel Ostrander's "Dust to Dust" (Part One of a six-part serial) opens with Mrs. Calvin Yates and Mrs. Sears Edgett lunching at an exclusive New York restaurant, where they discuss acquaintances including sculptor Stephen Munson and the famously beautiful Claudia Langham, recently emerged from seclusion following her father's death. Dicky Tewson hints at a romantic development between Claudia and the distinguished Niles Hamersley. Also featured are Don Cameron Shafer's "A Month to Live" (Part Two), Lyon Mearson's "The Man Without Hands" (Part Three), Edgar Franklin's "Poker Faces" (Part Four), and Charles Alden Seltzer's "The Way of the Buffalo" (Part Six). A. Merritt's "The Face in the Abyss" novelette and four short stories complete the fiction content.
