This bound volume of The Argosy (Volume XXXIII, April–July 1900) collects fiction published by Frank A. Munsey. Contents include four complete novels: The Dalmatian Crown Jewels by Gilbert Ashton (concerning an honest man falsely pursued); A Cast of Fate by W. Bert Foster; Shot Into Wonderland by Frederick R. Burton; and When York Was King. Eight serials run across multiple issues, including The Gray Fox of Gibraltar by E. W. Mayo, The American Syndicate by Frederick R. Burton, and A Battle with Misfortune by Upton B. Sinclair, Jr. Over 60 short stories cover romance, domestic drama, and adventure; contributors include Matthew White, Jr., Edward S. Ellis, and others. Numerous poems by minor writers conclude each issue. The OCR text is incomplete, cutting off mid-sentence in the opening chapter of The Dalmatian Crown Jewels.
Each page has its own page — the cartoon, who’s in it, and what the satire means.
