This issue of Argosy (October 20, 1928, Vol. 198, No. 5) features four serials: "The Golden Burden" by Fred MacIsaac, concerning ninety millions and their consequences; "Wolves of the Ranch" by C. Waddell, mixing cowboys, collegians, and a miser; "The Pagan Ruby" by J. Allan Dunn, tracing a blood-red Chinese gem's trail; and "A Brand New World" by Ray Cummings, depicting a war of worlds.
