Argosy-Allstory Weekly, September 24, 1927: Contents and Serials This issue features four serialized stories, five short stories, and poetry. The three-part serial "King's Khaki" by Will McMorrow chronicles an American drifter's misadventure. Hungover and unemployed after losing his bookkeeping job, Harmon wakes aboard a ship to discover himself among dock workers, stripped of money by a con artist. Confused and seeking passage home to Staten Island, he encounters a cryptic official with knowledge the protagonist cannot yet comprehend. Other continuing serials include part two of "The Gen" by Big Barry, part three of John Wilstach's "The Devil's Flower," and part five of Fred MacIsaac's "Desperate Chances." Ben Conlon contributes a complete novelette, "Don Juan of San Juan." Short fiction includes Don H. Thompson's "Medals," Charles Divine's "The Inn of the Beaker Mandolins," and others exploring western and maritime themes.
Each page has its own page — the cartoon, who’s in it, and what the satire means.
