About this issue

This issue of Tip Top Weekly (No. 110, May 21, 1898) features the serial "Frank Merriwell's Catch; or, The Canoe Boys of Lake Sebasticook" by the Frank Merriwell author. The narrative follows protagonist Frank Merriwell and his friend Bart Hodge fishing for white perch on a Maine lake. After a successful morning catch, their canoe is fired upon from behind reeds. Frank and Bart pursue the shooters and confront Jim Welch (a rival from a previous incident at Camp Benson) and an older, rough-looking man. Despite accusations, the men deny possession of any gun. The story blends outdoor adventure with interpersonal conflict and mystery. The issue includes additional content such as "One Hundred Prizes," reader tales, correspondence, and a comic column.
