The savage started up and seized him, just as he drew his knife and prepared for gefense. As he was about to strike, he heard a dull, cutting blow, -und his antagonist, with a slight cry and a moan, fell back ‘upon the ground. “ Are you hurt, George ?” asked the voice of Wilson. “No. Where are you ?” “Right here by your side.
