It was be- coming obvious that the N.S.F.C. had become too big —over a hundred members scattered throughout the U.K. and in the U.S.A. instead of being just a local Club. Something had to happen. Came September, 1953, when plans were being pre- pared for creating the Super- mancon, and it was then decided that the N.S.F.C. would go out with flying colours while making a great success of the Supermancon, after which the N.S.F.C. would no longer exist in its present form. An _ informal get-together like the London circle seemed to be the an- swer—a few enthusiasts meet- ing together, welcoming any other fan who popped in at the chosen site. Came the Supermancon— The -Magnificent Flop— 120 as quoted by Walt Willis. The N.S.F.C. apparently wasn’t going out as hoped, with flying colours. Still, the pre- vious idea was followed up, a search for a suitable pub for the informal get-togethers was made. The Thatched House was found. We have now arrived up-to-date.
