Go to her—not now— later.” Benedict had come from the drawing-room and nodded assent as he hurried from the house, immediately fol- lowed by Robert. “The saints save us, but these foreigners are frail,” she muttered. “There’s nothing I wouldn’t do for her— the dear child—pretty as a saint and twice as good.
