It snowed heavily dur- ing the night, and next morning we looked out on more snow than had fallen for many years in that country. ‘We oughtn’t to leave the fur in them traps any longer,’ said Sammy, at noon. ‘* Hit’s been in twodays, an’ with this snow somethin’ ‘ll yeat hit.” ‘* Bob and I ought to be able to make the | rounds,’ said I. ‘‘ You can take the others in the dugout, or leave them to keep house; but, whatever you do, be sure and have a hot supper ready for us when we get back.”’ ‘“T am willing,” affirmed Bob. ‘| ain't,” replied Joe, ‘‘if you can get along without me.
