This July 1910 issue of The Cavalier contains two complete novels and multiple series, along with sixteen shorter stories. The featured complete story is "A Desperate Bridegroom" by Albert Payson Terhune, concerning Clyde Maxwell, a young lawyer quarantined aboard a liner in New York harbor. Maxwell is engaged to marry Sylvia Tennant on March 1st, his fiancée's twenty-first birthday; her deceased grandfather's will grants them a combined $620,000 only if they marry by that date. When the ship's quarantine delays his arrival, Maxwell attempts a desperate escape by diving overboard to swim to shore and reach his wedding. Four serial stories by Jenks, Hopkins, Schrader, and Cain follow maritime, mystery, and domestic themes. Additional offerings include "The Barber-Shop Riddle," a comedy-mystery, plus numerous short stories of varying domestic and adventure content by various authors.
