This issue features thirteen short stories by various authors. "The Queen's Bedroom" by Ledru Baker Jr. depicts an archaeologist named Roily Andrews at the Mena House Hotel in Cairo, who meets the elderly Dr. David Barkley and his attractive daughter Janice. Barkley recruits Andrews to assist with excavating the tomb of Queen Hetepheres near Cairo, claiming it contains evidence bridging a mysterious thirty-year gap in Egyptian historical records. Andrews agrees, partly motivated by attraction to Janice. The story opens with Andrews alone in the tomb ninety feet beneath the desert, apparently dying and reflecting on how he came to be there. Other contributors include Michael Avallone ("The Man Who Thought He Was Poe"), Poul Anderson ("Mr. Tiglath"), William B. Hartley ("The Black Spot"), Mack Reynolds ("Dead End"), and A. Bertram Chandler ("The Window"). Boris Karloff is credited with a tale titled "The Frightened."
