This bi-monthly collection of short supernatural and horror fiction, published by John Spencer & Co., features five stories by various authors. The headlining novella, "Curse of the Totem" by R.L. Fanthorpe, follows young Alalu, a Native American boy who rescues a grey wolf from a hunter's trap, violating tribal law. He flees into the wilderness, surviving five years in solitude until longing drives him back to his village. He encounters Dancing Sunbeam, daughter of the chief Black Wolf, who reminds him of his lost humanity. Their reunion is interrupted by Black Wolf and the medicine man Curling Feather, who seeks Alalu's death. Also featured are Leo Brett's "Vengeance of Thor," depicting a Scandinavian peasant who discovers a god's ancient hammer; Trebor Thorpe's "Secret of the Shaman," set in Finland with a vengeful magician; Pel Torro's "Wokolo," based on African Baramba legend concerning a witch doctor's curse; and Bron Fane's "The Voice in the Wall," concerning supernatural sounds in a country house.
