Private Detective Stories, November 1946

This November 1946 issue of Private Detective Stories contains five crime fiction pieces. The feature novelette is "As Dead as They Come" by R. T. Judson: two tough Australian sisters and crime reporter Jim O'Hara attempt to claim $2,000,000 in diamonds from a murderous mob. Short stories include: "The Worm Has Fangs" by Radford Sheavely, involving a mysterious hypnosis research club terrorizing the film industry; "Killers Have Green Eyes" by Laurence Donovan, a private detective story; "One Trail to Murder," about a chain of murders threatening millions of innocent lives; "Terror by Night," featuring Dr. Gabriel investigating a strangling ghost case; and "Death Shakes the Dice" by Obert Leslie Bellem, concerning a man framed for his wife's husband's murder. Two fact articles accompany the fiction: "Production for Death" by Gordon Dozier, concerning Albert Hicks's 1860 execution, and "The American Dreyfus Case" by Redding Davidstone, describing a forty-five year legal battle for vindication.
