New Worlds Science Fiction No. 77

This November 1958 issue of New Worlds (volume 26, number 77) contains seven stories and articles. The lead novelette, "Trouble with Emily" by James White, is part of his ongoing Sector General hospital series; here Dr. Conway must coordinate with a diminutive, ancient alien doctor named Arretapec from a newly-discovered VUXG species to treat an unexpected dinosaur patient aboard a converted colonial transport—a case arranged at the highest Galactic Council level for mysterious purposes. Colin Kapp contributes the novelette "Life Plan." Short stories include Robert Presslie's "Sendoff," Brian W. Aldiss's "Carrion Country," John Kippax's "Dusty Death," Arthur Sellings's "Flatiron," and Arthur C. Clarke's "Who's There?" An article by D.J. Francis titled "Life with Coriolis" is also included. The issue features an editorial on pocketbook science fiction expansion, a literary review, and reader responses.
