Nebula Science Fiction No. 38

This issue of Nebula (Number 38, January 1959) collects seven science fiction stories. The lead story, "A Race of Madmen" by Philip E. High, concerns a General's military response after a Patrol Cruiser disappears encountering an unidentified vessel in space. Investigation suggests the ship originates from Sygma III, a planet whose civilization was destroyed seventy-five years prior by Federation bombardment using negation weapons that destroyed all metal in the system. The story examines the apparent impossibility of Sygma III's natives building a spacecraft without metalworking capability. Other stories include "The Arm" by Brian W.
