This Scottish monthly features four speculative fiction works. William F. Temple's novelette "Destiny Is My Enemy" begins an undersea adventure: marine botanist Daniel Defoe surveys E.4 plant cultivation beds on an oceanic floor when he chases an unidentified luminescent fish, slips from a rocky ledge, and plummets into crushing darkness. Radio contact severed, Defoe must navigate upward using only his direction-finder beacon to escape the abyss before air and pressure destroy him. Additional fiction includes E.C. Tubb's novel "The Troublemaker," Forrest J. Ackerman's short story "Sabina," J.T. M'Intosh's "War's Great Organ," and Ross Rocklynne's "Alphabet Scoop." The issue includes editorial commentary, science-film previews, book review, readers' letters section, and a crossword puzzle.
