# Hong Kong Blue Book for the Year 1935
This is an official colonial administrative directory and statistical compendium for Hong Kong, printed in 1936 by the Government Printers. The volume contains a comprehensive table of contents and detailed index organized by administrative function and revenue source.
Content includes entries on agriculture, air services, currency and banking, education, criminal statistics, ecclesiastical returns, civil establishments, government expenditure with comparative yearly statements, gaols and prisoner statistics, hospitals, imports and exports, legislation, manufactures and fisheries, mental hospital records, meteorological observations, municipalities, pensions, population and vital statistics, ports and harbours, postal and telegraph services, public debt, public works, railways and transportation infrastructure, and detailed information on savings banks and friendly societies.
A substantial section specifies taxes, duties, fees and revenue sources, including admiralty jurisdiction fees, liquor duties differentiated by type (European, Chinese, Japanese, and other), motor spirit duties, tobacco duties, various licenses for commercial and professional activities, and registration fees. The liquor duty schedules detail specific per-gallon rates for spirits, wines, beer and other beverages, with graduated rates based on alcohol content.
