This Spanish-language adventure serial follows Indiana James, an adventurer recently confined to the luxurious Foxworth mansion with his friend Mary Lou. Restless and caged by wealth, Indiana receives a call from his old associate Nicholas Fielding, a dust-covered historian-archaeologist who reveals knowledge of a fortune in gold: eighteen thousand gold escudos worth approximately ten million dollars, lost when two French slave ships—the Jungfrau and the Lyon—sank off Guinea-Bissau in the early 1700s. The treasure's location comes from a manuscript by Fardenfly, an English survivor driven mad by the wreck. A third ally, Sam Luke Morrison-Norton, awaits in Guinea-Bissau to mount an expedition. Indiana abandons his comfortable captivity, driving recklessly to London's Army & Commercial Historical Archive to meet Fielding. Upon arrival, he discovers his mentor has been attacked; Indiana fights a large, violent antagonist in the archive's weapons hall with halberd-based combat.
