Smith recounts "The Red and Green Mystery"—an unfinished case involving Beverly Benson, an aging film actress from the silent era, whose distinctive red-and-green emerald and ruby necklace disappears during a Disney-themed Christmas party in Laurel Canyon. Additional stories include E.C. Bentley's parodic "Greedy Night," P.C. Wren's "Simple," H.G. Wells' "The Hammerpond Park Burglary," and works by Wadsworth Camp, Rodrigues Ottolengui, Ruth Chessman, Marten Cumberland, Viola Brothers Shore, and Dorothy L. Sayers. The issue concludes with minute mysteries by Post and Ripley.
