# Rosebud Rob and the Man from Texas

This serial in the Dick Turpin Library features "Rosebud Rob" (also called the "Spotter Sport"), a well-dressed young confidence man operating in the growing mining town of Cascade City. The first installment centers on Photograph Phil, a nineteen-year-old boy photographer who displays a "rogues' gallery" to town crowds. After befriending a young woman named Millicent Vere, Phil receives a mysterious paper bearing a skull, cross-bones, and the letters "T. of B." He investigates the Temple of Bacchus, a clandestine establishment where he infiltrates a masked gathering of what appears to be a criminal organization called Diablo's gang. Disguising himself in hooded robes, Phil attempts to bluff his way through their initiation but is exposed as an imposter when confronted by the masked leader.
