# Catalog Note

"La Mansión de los Esqueletos Vivientes" (The Mansion of the Living Skeletons), Part VI, by Joseph Berna, is a gothic mystery serial from Editorial Bruguera's Terror collection. The narrative opens in Liverpool where Robin Stack, a pool player, wins ten pounds against a stranger. His friend Trevor Lowell interrupts with news that their uncle Richard McLeod, a Scottish landowner, has died, leaving Trevor and his cousin Estelle Jones joint heirs to an ancient mansion near Glasgow. Lowell invites Stack to spend the weekend there with Roxana Baker and suggests Stack bring Christie Duncan, a young woman with whom he's been quarreling. Stack persuades Christie to accompany him. The three couples—Lowell with Baker, Estelle with her boyfriend Danny Moore, and Stack with Duncan—drive north to the inherited property. The narrative emphasizes character introductions and romantic tension while building toward the mansion setting that presumably contains the mystery elements suggested by the title.
