· 1979

# Catalog Note

"Entre Tinieblas" (In Darkness) by Lou Carrigan, a science fiction thriller centered on Dr. Aaron De Arlington, a brilliant neuroscientist who has abandoned his successful athletic career to pursue a dangerous obsession: locating and extracting fear from the human brain. After leaving NASA for independent research near Houston, Texas, Arlington is targeted for kidnapping by three operatives working for mysterious figures named Hipócrates and Lucrecia, who operate from an unnamed island and maintain a sinister "cemetery." When the initial abduction attempt fails spectacularly—Arlington subdues all three assailants during a car chase—the terrified operatives flee to Houston and contact their handlers at the "Astra Club" in New Orleans. Facing potential execution for their failure, they fabricate an elaborate cover story. Meanwhile, Arlington finds himself under armed guard in his own home, with darker forces closing in on his research.
