# Museum Catalog Note

"Horror en el cuarto oscuro" by Ada Coretti is a Spanish-language horror/crime serial appearing in this terror anthology. The narrative follows two intertwined plotlines in the English town of Dressbold: a maniac killer with luminous red eyes who targets blonde women with prominent physical features, murdering them violently with a knife before incinerating their bodies with gasoline; and Audrey, a young gas station attendant who resembles the victims and has received marriage proposals from two suitors—James Merrit, a mechanic, and Michael Freeman, a wealthy industrialist. As Audrey contemplates her choice while fearing the killer prowling dark streets at night, she accepts a ride from Adrian Carter, Freeman's secretary, who begins warning her cryptically about Freeman and the mysterious household at a manor on the town's outskirts. The narrative remains unresolved in this excerpt.
