# Planeta Sin Ley (Lawless Planet)

This Spanish-language science fiction serial by Ralph Barby follows Klaud Orleans, a ruthless space mercenary, aboard a colossal orbital metropolis housing both Earthlings and Reinicolas (beings from planet Rein). Orleans participates in a high-stakes dice game with the arrogant Longut, a Reinicola adorned with jeweled crown, collars, and gauntlet. When Longut loses progressively—first a massive diamond, then his luxury hyperlight spacecraft and its occupant, the beautiful Reinicolan woman Alia—Orleans kills him rather than pay disputed gambling debts. Orleans claims both ship and woman, but a police officer disguised as an officer shoots them down with a sonic weapon moments later. The opening establishes the lawless underworld of interstellar commerce where hired killers operate with impunity and where competing species coexist in rigid hierarchies aboard artificial worlds.
