# Spaceville: "Kidnapping of a Space City"

Clark Carrados's science fiction novel depicts the arrival of five mysterious passengers—Algernon Banffs, Dester Jadson, Ray Littino, Shirley Carmody, and Javitts McLean—aboard a shuttle to Spaceville, a massive orbital station orbiting Earth at thirty-six thousand kilometers. Each carries an identical duffel bag; Banffs, upon reaching his hotel room, reveals his bag contains a prohibited pistol. Parallel narrative threads include Charity Fisher, daughter of reclusive asteroid-owner Edgar Harriman Fisher, visiting Earth for shopping and socializing with acquaintance Hugo DeCart, who has just resigned from his government position due to political frustrations. A third plot strand introduces pilot Boo-Boo Tizzle commandeering a cargo vessel toward Spaceville after killing its pilots, carrying a mysterious device in the cargo hold. The converging storylines suggest an imminent conspiracy targeting the space city.
