This issue of Blue Book Magazine contains diverse fiction and nonfiction. The featured fiction includes several short stories: "Death in the Dark" by H. Bedford-Jones depicts an American citizen arrested in wartime London for violating neutrality laws; "Be Sure Your Sin Will Run You In" by George Weston; "Paraguay Fugitive" by Kenneth Perkins; "The Bag of Gold" by Beatrice Grimshaw; "Railhead" by Sidney Herschel Small; and "London Blackout" by William Makin. A novelette, "Devil's Fingers" by Fulton Grant, is also featured. Two serial novels appear: "Lady of the Legion" by Georges Surdez about Foreign Legion soldiers, and "They Lived by the Sword" by Gordon Keyne. The complete novel "Deep-Sea Rendezvous" by Michael Galster concludes the fiction offerings. A special feature article, "The Black Tom Case" by Harland Manchester, reprinted from Harper's Magazine, examines a historical incident. Three prize-winning real-experience accounts complete the issue: an anonymous account of a depth-bombed British submarine, Colonel Henry Page's account of opening shots in the war, and Peter Rainier's account of World War African campaign action.
