# "The White Tigers: Silver Rifle, The Girl Tracker of Lake Superior"

Author: Captain Charles Howard

This adventure serial, set on Lake Superior during Pontiac's War, follows two protagonists: Ahdeek, a half-breed Chippewa youth, and Nahma, a white youth known as the "White Tiger." The narrative opens with Ahdeek ambushed by Chippewa warriors seeking his capture, then rescued by Nahma, who reveals himself as the actual "White Tiger" feared throughout the region. The pair escape pursuit together, with Ahdeek bearing wounds from a panther attack. They discuss recent violence: Pontiac has struck lake forts and Detroit; local trappers have been killed and their posts burned, including an old man named Snowbeard. As they prepare a boat on the stormy lake, Nahma reveals a mysterious encounter from the previous week—a beautiful white woman in a canoe who appeared during lightning, her boat resembling one stolen from Ahdeek. When Nahma attempted to approach her, she cut his rope with a knife. The text breaks off before resolution.
