This Beadle & Adams dime novel serial, "Frisco Frank at Glory Gulch," is written by Wm. H. Manning. Confronting Warren Addison outside camp, Frankfort reveals he was wrongly accused of theft and driven out years earlier. Addison, now visibly ill and partially blind, had falsely charged Frankfort to ruin his reputation with Dorothy West, daughter of miner Peter West. Frankfort accuses Addison of deliberately loaning money to the simple-minded Peter, driving him into debt to gain power over Dorothy. Though Frankfort threatens violence, Addison asks for time and suggests Frankfort investigate the camp. Addison, claiming he's near death, offers a mysterious future meeting, then departs toward Glory Gulch as Frankfort retrieves his horse.
