# Dan Guolan's Clean-Up
Dan Guolan's Clean-Up, by W. R. Eyster, is a Western pulp serial beginning with Chapter I, "Mr. Green Gets in Earnest." A southbound stagecoach bound for the mining camp Broad Ax carries several passengers including Doctor Farley and his Eastern daughter Nina, the brutal gunman Orange Able, and Stephen Greene, an innocent Eastern tenderfoot seeking employment and his lost uncle. Orange Able torments Greene throughout the journey with insults and threats, attempting to provoke him into a fight. Doctor Farley cryptically suggests Greene may be more dangerous than he appears. Upon arrival at Broad Ax, when Able again threatens him, Greene responds with a decisive punch that renders Able unconscious. Onlookers warn Greene that Able will seek revenge with lethal force, though Greene remains unfazed by their warnings. Chapter II introduces a character named Chris Crockly and sets up further complications.
