# Saul Sunday's Six Sensations

This issue of Beadle & Adams (April 17, 1889, No. 547) features "Saul Sunday's Six Sensations: An Over-the-Range Romance" by Jos. E. Badger Jr., serialized in pulp format.

The opening chapters introduce Carl Rank, a well-dressed businessman, meeting Saul Sunday, a gaunt, gaudily-attired pilgrim riding a burro across the mountain range between mining towns. Sunday obsessively seeks a man resembling him who has stolen his name and reputation. Their conversation is interrupted when masked outlaws called the Gamecocks ambush them on the trail. The robbers, led by a chief called "Waterhaul," overpower both men with lassos, bind them, and force them blindfolded into a remote mountain camp. After removing their hoods, the outlaws begin searching the prisoners' possessions. Rank remains composed despite peril, while Sunday maintains his characteristically doleful demeanor throughout the ordeal, even when restrained.
