# Catalog Note

Deputy Detective Ticket's Trump and The Lost Tin Box Mystery by J.C. Cowdrice constitute this October 31, 1893 issue of this Beadle and Adams pulp weekly. The main serial follows detective William "Broadway Billy" Weston as he meets Norman Sherwin, who inherited $100,000 from his eccentric aunt but the money remains hidden in a tin box whose location died with the family lawyer. Only the will confirms it exists. Billy agrees to search the house on contingency. Meanwhile, the street orphan Ticket, Billy's protégé, overhears two criminals—Tony Vangriff and Hugh Higgin—plotting to steal the same fortune after learning of it through a servant girl. Ticket plans to inform Billy of this criminal scheme. The narrative establishes competing parties seeking the hidden inheritance, setting up conflict between the detective and the criminals.
