During a violent storm, Kate observes a dismasted naval schooner in distress offshore. Meanwhile, her father Cyle, grieving at his wife's grave, hears the distress cannon and rushes back to the mansion, discovering commotion among the household servants regarding the unfolding crisis at sea.
