# Catalog Description

Gold Trigger, the Sport; or, The Girl Avenger, by T.C. Harbaugh. This frontier adventure serial opens in Panther City, a remote gold-rush settlement in the Far Northwest governed by violence and lawlessness. The story introduces Old Bizness, a grotesque horse trader attempting to sell his decrepit mount Morpheen, and Gold Trigger (Murell Anton), a handsome, well-dressed western "sport" or dashing adventurer. After the trader insults the Sport's manhood regarding the horse, they agree to fight with bowie knives at moonrise. Through their conversation, it emerges that Old Bizness is actually an avenger sent to kill the Sport as retribution for a crime. Gold Trigger reveals he is the last surviving member of nine men who broke their dice-boxes together in New York two years prior; the others have all been hunted down and killed. A duel with knives is about to commence.
