"The Great Steel Panic" by Irvin Lester and Fletcher Pratt depicts an industrial crisis. The featured serial is Part II of "The Skylark of Space" by E.E. Smith in collaboration with Lee Hawkins Garby, wherein the Skylark's crew explores a newly discovered planet whose inhabitants have advanced mechanical capabilities but lag in atomic theory compared to Earth scientists. The issue also previews forthcoming stories including "The Menace of Mars" by Clare Winger Harris and Part III of Skylark.
