# Amazing Stories, May 1927 Issue Contents
This issue features five complete stories and the first installment of The Moon Pool, a three-part serial by A. Merritt. Frank Gates contributes "The Man Who Died By Proxy," while H.G. Wells's The Time Machine appears (presumably a reprint). "The Singing Weapon" by Bent Prout, "The Man Who Was" by Walter Burch, and "The Star of Dead Love" by Will H. Gray complete the fiction offerings.
The cover illustration derives from "The Star of Dead Love," depicting Dr. Joyce observing a miniaturized Venusian being entering a cabinet equipped with filtered air regulators and a botanical-trumpet acoustic device directing sound to five different transmitters.
Upcoming stories announced include the next Moon Pool installment emphasizing Celtic mythology and vibrational destruction, "The Four-Dimensional Roller-Press" by Bob Olsen explaining fourth-dimensional theory in lay terms, Ronald M. Sherin's "The Lost Comet" about cometary trajectories predicting catastrophe, "The Shadow on the Spark" by Edward S. Sears combining murder mystery with science, and Ellis Parker Butler's humorous "Solander's Radio Tomb" regarding a radio-equipped burial vault.
